Plyo X/Cheating is over now/Memorial Day

Sweat like a beast today!

I'm LOVING phase 3 so far Big Grin CARBTACULAR. It's definitely strange not eating billions of grams of protein though.

All the parties and the baseball game and going out to dinner was fun, but I'm exhausted and tired of cheating. Back to it! All the cheat foods at parties and eating out at restaurants is going to stop finally and I'm actually excited about that! It's hard to keep track of food that way.

Happy Memorial Day!

  1. Wow! check you out! lots of bread here- I'm so jealous! eating 85 grams of carbs on low days is killer, but I think it's working, bro. The one thing I have to be careful about is nutrition- it's so easy to get caught up in worrying about every little carb gram. I've decided to just let it go in favor of nutrition- I made 3 bean turkey chili last night, and that has like 44 grams of carbs a cup- beans have lots of carbs, but they also have super high fiber and a low impact on glucose, which is what a low carb diet is trying to avoid.

I figure, as long as i stay away from potatoes, corn, sugar, and bagels and stuff, I'm good to go. I made an amazing asian cole slaw with stevia yesterday to sweeten, and it was great!

  2. Sounds like a good slaw. Got the recipe?

I miss chili--I can't make it unless it's for myself so I typically skip it all together. Sounds good though. How'd you lighten the recipe? Just using super-lean meat?

Yeah, I'm doing okay hunger-wise so far with the 50% carb thing but I do find myself craving foods that I shouldn't eat more than ever now. I wonder if there's a correlation?

  3. yeah there totally is a correlation. There's been lots of research done about that- stop eating carbs, you stop craving sugar and crap like that.

I made the chili with 1 pound ground turkey, 1 can kidney beans, pinto beans, and black beans each, one diced onion, 2 minced cloves of garlic, 1 tablespoon oregano, 1 tablespoon basil, 1 1/2 tablespoons chili powder, 1 teaspoon cumin, 2 teaspoons crushed red pepper, and salt/pepper to taste, plus 1 28 oz can crushed tomato. Thats it. you cook the onion and garlic in some oil till translucent, add the turkey and brown it, then you add all the spices and and tomato, and let simmer for an hour. easy peasy. I even put some chopped green onion on the top.

As far as the asian slaw- one bag coleslaw mix, 1 green onion, sliced, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce (low sodium, of course) one tablespoon sesame oil, 1 tablespoon grated ginger, 2 packets splenda or stevia, 2 tablespoons lime juice, 1/2 C. rice wine vinegar, 1/4 of a cup of slivered toasted almonds, and 3 or 4 shakes of sesame seed if you have it.

mix all the ingredients that isn't the coleslaw mix together and add it to the bowl with the coleslaw mix, toss, and serve.
